What's the future of viruses?

A computer virus, a self replicating malicious program, which can copy itself and infect a computer without permission or knowledge of the user. Viruses one of the scariest thing for all computer users all around the world. Some viruse are mild, and only cause messages to appear on the screen, but others are destructive and can wipe out the computer’s memory or even cause more severe damage. Ok now, before going deeper about the topic, let us know more about the history of viruses.”Elk Cloner” believed to be the worlds first virus, programmed 25 years back by Rich Skrenta, as a high school prank. Later the concept of virus turned downed to evil hands which lead to destructive virus like SASAR, Pakistani brain, Sobig, lovebug, etc.. Now a days, there are so many viruses let loose everyday.     For me the best solution in fight against viruses was to switch to Mac ;-)
    Unix/Linux is another option.

    Wow, I remember reading about the Elk Cloner! I think it was more of a goof at the time than the viruses of today, but I guess it encouraged others to up the ante. It spawned so many problems, especially if it did indeed start the virus trend. I wonder when some virus will become self-aware?
